Skorius
[/url] At the best of times, floating chunks of rock generated rumors and tales. That was certainly the case now. Skorius had been hearing the stories of the floating chunk of stone for weeks now, before he'd decided to go investigate it himself and see if there was any truth in the matter.
And, as it turned out, there most certainly was truth in the matter. He could see it looming huge in front of him, a massive stone suspended in midair, held to the earth by a chain. From the far distance where it first became visible, Skorius couldn't help but pause and look up and up and up, trying to take in the gigantic magical formation.
Soon enough, awe gave way to rampant excitement, and Skorius cantered forward with all the enthusiasm of the colt he hadn't been for years. His peacock-feathered tail and mane whipping in the wind, the fast pace brought him to the chain that tethered Zseverbren to the land. It was massive, and made him feel small in comparison-- not an easy feat, because he wasn't a tiny stallion.
He didn't notice the basket until he'd stood at the chain for a few moments, wondering if perhaps he ought to climb that and try to make his way upwards. Cantering to that, he found himself facing hesitation for the first time since discovering the land: should he get in? Did he trust the thing, or was this one of those situations where wild flights of fancy might get him in trouble. Did it matter?

Evermore's delicate white hooves prodded the rocky, shifting ground as she stepped shyly towards the basket. Her curiousity had been sated - temporarily - and it was now time to return... where? Home? You have no home a cruel voice mocked her. No one wants you, you're a a freak! Evermore whimpered softly, shaking her head as she felt Roma creep across her mind, shook back the slight darkening of her vision that signaled the start of the gold-to-navy transformation. Baring her teeth and flattening her ears, Evermore concentrated on putting one delicate hoof in front of the other and removing all negative emotions from her mind...
It was whilst Evermore fought to keep her alter-ego at bay that the elevator to this odd land cranked up. Dropping. To pick someone up. The sound didn't stir a reaction in the odd mare until she reached the place where her ride down should be. Her golden eyes slowly drifted up as she gazed at the gatekeeper, seeing without really seeing, whilst her mind caught up from her mental struggle. Her silver, floaty mane and tail lifted gently in the perpetual breeze that seemed to never cease it's never-ending breath. Taking a deep breath, Evermore slowly drifted back into the present and took a tentative step to look out over the edge. She could see nothing except vague shapes of land formations.
A wave of dizziness forced the mare backwards, nearly falling flat on her rump as she scrambled to get away from the edge. It was there she stood, legs splayed as she tried to regain her balance. Deep, heavy breaths made her sides billow in and out as her gold mane and tail fluttered gently in the breeze. She couldn't do it, couldn't risk losing control like that... Roma was so, so close to the edge. It wouldn't take much for her to take over... Panic nearly enveloped the petite 14.1hh filly as she stood on top of the world with sweat dripping down her flanks and marring her pure silvery cremello coat, the only sounds coming from her wheezing breath and the steady clunk, clunk, clunk as the lift neared the bottom, perhaps to pick up another being...
